Voice
We’ve had the blessing of our grandchildren the past two weeks, and I’ve seen the importance of “voice”.
During that time, I was reminded that two-year-olds are loud for a reason, when they’re quiet-be concerned! I also remember that the tiny voice and the silly things he says will be missed as he grows up all too quickly. Let me record here my favorite: “No, you’re weird.”
There is so much wisdom in the Truth of James 5:12. If our No is no and our Yes is yes; there’s no need to say anything more. An explanation of the “why” isn’t necessary. If it’s wanted, it will be asked for.
God has given His word in written form. You get out of it what you put in. The more you read and study, the more understanding you can have. Digging into the “why” comes from the relationship we can have through the Holy Spirit, John 14:26, and our heart-change as we grow to understand what Jesus did for us, the gift God gives for believing it, and the love that He has for us that is hard to fathom.
These days people are all trying to make their voices heard. Some don’t seem to think through all the points they’re making, but that’s okay. We are responsible for our voice. And we are responsible for our heart. Luke 6:45
Being a grandparent is an unexplainable blessing. The heart is stretched and remolded in ways that are indescribable and I cannot help but parallel them with the way my heart feels when I learn more about Creator God. My Abba Father. The Alpha and Omega, who spoke creation into place. That’s a mighty powerful voice. Through the Spirit I can also hear that voice in many ways. And I appreciate when He says “no” and when He says “yes”. I rejoice that I’m weird and praise Him that I’m blessed, Psalm 139:14.
