Tired

Yesterday, being Monday, would have been a perfect day for this Word of the Week, but I was too…well, TIRED.

I don’t need to explain what the word means, nor should I spend time listing the antonyms. Because of the varied examples I felt yesterday I pushed against them and pondered endurance!

There are many scriptural references that educate us what to do when we are weary, how to refrain from being exhausted and even some that call us to find rest. Why?

When we’re not fully rested, we aren’t fully focused. We push on and put ourselves at risk. The enemy loves a weakened saint.

How many times have things gone more and more badly when you’ve pushed against sound mind and tried to complete them while not being rested?

God even rested.

He created a day TO rest. Genesis 2:2-3. Mark 2:27.

We can rest in Him. He calls us to “come to me and I will give you rest” He wants to share our burdens because when we are weak, He is strong. Matthew 11:28-29.

Yesterday I chose to rest. The day ended much better than it began. Today, I’m grateful to have another opportunity to share His goodness and truth. The truth is, God does not rest and leave us unprotected, but He will grow weary of our sinfulness and non-repentant hearts. Go to Him today, for His day will come, and nothing will hold back His wrath against all sin. Isaiah 30:15, 40:28-31
